Background
The Hangar Project set out to bridge the gap between angel investors and social-impact startups from underserved areas, helping to democratize venture capital in Brazil.
Born from the challenge of connecting investors with startups, the project aimed to solve the issue of limited funding, as the number of angel investors in Brazil couldn't keep up with the rising demand from innovative, emerging businesses.
User story mapping
In this project, I facilitated Design Thinking Workshops to better organize ideas, understand our target audience, figure out how to reach them, and map their experiences.
This process led to the creation of the MVP, and I had the key role in bridging communication between the business team and developers. This collaboration helped translate technical terms, streamline communication, and guide the selection of tools like IBM’s Watson Assistant, Cloudant, Cognos and DB2 for the project.
Empathy map
Profile of Julia, an entrepreneur seeking investors for her startup. Key elements include her goals (securing venture capital), needs (finding investors to scale her idea), activities (balancing work and entrepreneurship), and challenges (stagnation due to lack of funding).
Profile of Erica, an investor focused on finding startups that align with her values and goals. Her primary objective is to invest in intellectual capital, seeking innovative ideas and ventures that resonate with her vision for growth and impact.
To-be scenario and MVP scope
The to-be scenario was mapped to identify opportunities for introducing new features to enhance the website, ensuring a more optimized and user-centric experience.
The MVP scope defined key tools like IBM Watson Assistant, Cognos, and DB2, focusing on the website's goal of connecting investors with startups.
Styleguide
We wanted something modern and simple, with minimal colors, while still conveying trust and a connection to technology. We chose aqua green, gray, and white. Aqua green creates contrast, highlighting key elements, while white enhances text readability.

Startup and application logos
Two logos were created with the same visual identity. The first represents Hangar Group, the startup behind the Investe Match app, which connects initiatives with investors and received the second logo.
Once the visual identity was set, we moved on to frontend tasks, including integrating the Watson Assistant chatbot into the website.
Prototypes
The workflow is as follows:
The user visits the app's landing page and signs up or logs in.
Once inside, they can access the chatbot to find a startup to invest in.
The chatbot asks questions—such as the startup's industry (education, health, etc.) and revenue—to match the investor with suitable options.
After a match is found, the investor can review the details and decide whether to proceed or search for another startup.

Conclusion
Leveraging IBM technologies, including Watson Assistant, we integrated an intelligent chatbot that streamlines the investment discovery process by guiding users through tailored recommendations based on their preferences.
By incorporating AI-powered interactions and a structured workflow, we enhanced user experience, making the search for promising startups more efficient and data-driven. With this strong foundation, the platform is well-positioned to foster meaningful connections, optimize decision-making, and drive new investment opportunities in a seamless and innovative way.
